Saturday, September 22, 2007. Fishing begins at first light and ends at 5:00 PM. Headquarters (HQ) will be in the private cantina at Josie’s Restaurant in Port O’Connor, TX.
The tradition continues with the twenty-first annual Redfish Rodeo. The primary goals are to promote catch & release fly fishing and generate a donation to the Coastal Conservation Association.
A two-person team event, this honor system tournament is open to everybody, guides included. To qualify for a prize, fish must be caught on a fly cast with a fly rod & reel. Each participant must catch, land, measure, and release their own fish. Team partners should witness each catch. Entries are individually submitted but must be signed by your fishing partner and submitted no later than 6:00 PM Saturday at HQ. Single fishers can enter and are awarded honorable mention in lieu of prizes.
Entry Fee is $40 per person if prepaid by mail. Or you may register for $50 at the door Saturday night. Headquarters (HQ) is Josie’s Restaurant in Port O’Connor, located at 7th & Adams.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest redfish, longest speckled trout, and slam. A slam is from two to five fish (one fish allowed from each category: speckled trout, redfish, flounder, black drum, or ladyfish). Lengths are measured to the nearest 1/8-inch. In the event of a tie, a coin flip will determine the winning entry.
All Texas fishing and boating regulations apply. There are no cash awards.
A catered dinner will be served promptly at 7 PM Saturday followed by an extremely light hearted, fun filled night of awards, skits, contests, raffles and storytelling, The Redfish Rodeo finale at is the "everybody wins something" door prize drawing at 9 PM sharp.

Waiver, Release, Hold Harmless Agreement
KNOW ALL PERSONS BY THESE PRESENTS THAT: For good valuable consideration, including without limitation the acceptance of the undersigned’s entry and or participation in the Redfish Rodeo Fly Fishing Tournament, and also for participating in certain related activities to the Redfish Rodeo Fly Fishing Tournament, the undersigned, for himself or herself, and personal representatives, heirs, guests, invites, employees and crew members hereby (1) RELEASE WAIVES, DISCHARGES, AND COVENANTS, NOT TO SUE the following, which shall be known collectively as the "Releases: The Redfish Rodeo Fly Fishing Tournament, or any of its committee members, or any members of participating fly fishing clubs, or any of it’s donors, or any of it’s contractors or subcontractors, including the aforementioned respective heirs, successors, assigns, officers, directors, benefactors, employees, agents, contractors, and subcontractors. Furthermore, the undersigned (2) AGREES TO ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY for his or her actions and any loss or damage, and all claims or damages therefor, including bodily injury, personal injury, death, or property damage, which they may suffer or incur during the Redfish Rodeo Fly Fishing Tournament or that may arise from any activity related to the Redfish Rodeo Fly Fishing Tournament. The undersigned also (3) AGREES TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS the "Releases" from all personal injury to property damage to himself, or herself, guests, invites, employees, boat and equipment due to negligence or Releases or otherwise during the Redfish Rodeo Fly Fishing Tournament. The undersigned (4) agrees that this waiver, release, hold harmless, and agreement not to sue is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Texas and that, if any portion is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force.
