The 2010 Sunfish Spectacular will take place on Saturday the 17th of April at Damon's Seven Lakes. Thanks go to Mike Arnold who has once again agreed to host the club at his great fishery. We will start at 8.00 and you can fish for as long (or as short) as you wish. The fee is $40.00 for TFF members, lunch included (catfish, deer chili, and hot dogs) as well as drinks during the day.
The Sunfish spectacular has only a few rules. The member that catches the longest sunfish is awarded a trophy at the next club meeting and gets to display that trophy in a prominent spot in their home for a year. And, since bass are part of the sunfish family we will acknowledge the club member that catches the longest bass. For measurement we usually rely on the honor system (including you Jerry). But this year we are working hard to entice John Scarborough, Legendary Weighmaster and Sunfish Spectacular Creator, to ensure that the measurement is on the up-and-up. With John present you had better be on your game. Bank fishing is plentiful or you may bring a kayak, canoe, pontoon boat, or float tube although they are not necessary. The lakes contain bass, sunfish, tilapia, catfish, and some 'big' carp. Contact Don Puckett on to signup. Don't forget to print out, complete and bring the required paperwork.

TFF members in good standing get a full day of fishing and lunch for $40.00. Guests pay $75.00 or join TFF for $24.00 and pay the members's rate. Catfish, deer chili, hotdogs, and drinks will be served at 11.30. Note that if you are a Damon's Seven Lakes member you will only have to pay for lunch. If you are not a TFF member or a Seven Lakes member Mike or Pete will have forms if you choose to join.
Your safety is paramount, so make sure that you ask questions before the outing if you are undertaking an activity for the first time. It is your responsiblity to ensure that you have the right gear and are physically prepared to safely participate in the outing. Be prepared for sunbrun, fire ants, and the occassional snake that somehow has escaped Mike's passion.
Rods 4 to 6 weights with floating lines. Goose is big enough for a yak, canoe, or kick boat so bring 'em if you got 'em.
Miss Prissy is my standby and Mike will have some flys for TFF and Damon's Seven Lakes members. He will also have more of his killer flies for sale if you need more.
Print out the two waivers that follow, complete, and bring them to the outing to save time. You need both the Damon's Seven Lakes Waiver and the Texas Flyfishers Hold Harmless Form.
